At the end of August Coronation Street and bingo fans everywhere were disappointed as ITV Bingo took down all references to the popular British soap. ITV Bingo operator Cashcade has sent emails notifying affiliate sites that they were no longer associated with the show and that all content regarding Corrie should be removed from ITV Bingo reviews etc.
All references to the soap are now gone from the bingo site. The caricatures that once greeted bingo players are only a memory and been replaced with banners displaying bonus details, promotions and £50,000 guaranteed jackpot prizes up for grabs every week.
Entering the lobby of the site doesn't have the shock factor but it has went from Corrie Bingo to ITV Bingo and the two bingo rooms named after the soap are now known as “On The Box” and “Telly Addicts”.
Why have the ties been broken between ITV Bingo and Corrie? There are no answers to sooth the pain felt by fans around the country.
