In total, 235 people were present (and playing bingo, obviously), easily smashing the previous record from 2012, held by a company in the Philippines and its staff of 97 individuals.
But, what added a completely different and humane spin to this particular record is that this event was used as an opportunity to raise funds for charity. More than £400 was raised for the site’s charity partner, Carers Trust.
The brand’s own, Caroline Webb, commented on this event, saying that everyone involved had great fun crushing this world record as a business, adding this was only appropriate for one of the UK's leading bingo brands.
"Not only was this an opportunity to put our own bingo skills to the test, but it was also a great way for us to help raise further funds and awareness to support the fantastic work that carers across the UK do.", she said.
Carers Trust CEO, Gail Scott-Spicer, also expressed his delight at hearing about the fundraising success: "The money raised by team combined with the amazing amounts money raised throughout the year will help Carers Trust to support thousands of unpaid carers through a grants fund, to give carers the equipment and skills they need to carry out their caring roles, whilst also ensuring that their own health and wellbeing are looked after."
