This true story begins at Mecca Bingo in Stockton-on-Tees on Sunday March 13th. Court proceedings began when Kircho Markov was accused of peeking over a public toilet cubicle in the Bingo hall while a woman was inside.
The 25-year-old male who washes cars for a living was described as a person of good character in the past now may has his integrity questioned.
In the courtroom the proceedings were translated in Markov's second language Turkish. He denied the claims of watching a woman sitting on the toilet for the purpose of sexual gratification.
Andrea Pitt the prosecuting attorney asked the judge if Markov who has only been in the country for 4 days could be detained in custody until his trial May 10th. The request was denied by the judge who felt he was not a flight risk at making only £30 a day working at the car wash.
Bail was granted but with a condition the does not enter any Mecca Bingo halls but dismissed the request to forbid him from entering any public toilets in Teesside.
District Judge Walker said: "How would you define a public toilet, or enforce it?"
Markov said through an interpreter: “I will guarantee you that I will come back.”
