Rank plc's bingo subsidiary prepares Android version, as well
A bingo branch of the Rank plc group, Meccabingo.com this week presented its latest release – an iPhone bingo app for real money play. In addition, the company announced that an Android version of the application is under preparation and it should be launched later in 2011.
The free application is powered by Playtech's online bingo specialist Virtue Fusion, and thanks to the application mobile players are enabled to play for the same prizes as players on the site.
According to Head of Bingo and Games at Rank Interactive, Claire Osborne, “Community interaction is one of the major motivations behind the new app.” She also added: “What we wanted to focus on was the community side of bingo, with customers currently being able to chat to each other online in our bingo rooms.”
“Building this new app has given us a fantastic opportunity to take this concept one step further with an integrated chat function, allowing players to continue to chat whilst playing bingo wherever they are.”
