Get ready Milton Keynes, drag queen bingo is on its way and it’s backed by RuPaul’s seal of approval! Charlie Hides, a drag race star who pop-sensation Cher labelled as her ‘favourite impersonator’ is set to pull the bingo balls from the bag in a one-off event this November.
Appearing on the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the reality television star will be bringing a touch of glamour, slap-stick comedy and thrills to the Galleon Old in Wolverhampton.
Powerful Bingo Performance
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the television show, RuPaul is an American drag queen, actor, model and singer songwriter who has been hosting the RuPaul Drag Race in the United States since 2009. In each series, the reality competition which has bagged him four Primetime Emmy Awards, seeks out America’s next big drag superstar.
Charlie Hides is an American-born impersonator who was famed for his live performances here in the United Kingdom. After dramatic and side-splitting sell-out shows in the clubs of London, Charlie took his show to the online community with her very own YouTube channel, where he (she) has amassed more than 102,000 subscribers.
Before making his way across the pond to the shores of the US, Charlie appeared on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side; the follow-up programme to the popular Celebrity Big Brother (which has since been axed) and he also won an award – the Royal Television Society Award for his one-man comedy special.
It’ll Be All Glam on the Night
It’s not the first time the drag queen has had her hands on numbered balls; Hertfordshire, Hampshire and Kent were all sell-out sessions and the announcement of her arrival next month in Wolverhampton coincides with the release of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK on the BBC iPlayer.
The bingo game fun is scheduled to take place at 7pm on Wednesday November 20th and tickets are just £7 each! What? There’s guaranteed to fun all night with a load of laugh, jokes, singalongs and camp prizes. Tickets are expected to sell out fast so don’t leave it too late!

Now this is one type of bingo I would love to attend, but Wolverhampton is nowhere near where I live! Forget rave bingo and doing silly things in between bingo games, this would be a whole new level of fun.
