Fancy a bingo night to remember? Mecca Bingo is hosting yet another Rewind event and this time, it’s coming to Wakefield. On Saturday, December 7th, not only will you get to dab the night away with fun-filled bingo games, but you’ll get to dance the night away too and it’s all thanks to the following 90’s pop legends; S Club 7, Ultrabeat and 911.
‘More than a Woman’ and ‘A Little Bit More’ singers 911 have performed at bingo halls previously, so too have Ultrabeat whose tracks include dance smash-hits ‘Pretty Green Eyes’ and ‘Elysium (I Go Crazy)’, but it will be the first time S Club 7 take to the bingo stage, in fact, it’s the first time the band will be back together after splitting back in 2003.
Bingo Line-Up
Rewind your Christmas at Mecca Bingo in Wakefield on Saturday 7th December. Doors open at 5:30pm with the fun scheduled to start at 6:30pm with some bingo games, naturally in a Bonkers Bingo fashion. If you’re brave enough to join in the fun, tickets can be purchased from £15 at the club or through the Eventbrite website.
You don’t need to be a member of Mecca to purchase tickets to the event, all they ask is that you bring ID with you. Whether you’re from Wakefield or the United States, as long as you’re old enough to attend and have a ticket, you’re welcome to join in the mayhem.
Mel Kassim, club manager at Mecca Bingo Wakefield, said: “Our Rewind events are always a sell-out and I’m sure this one will be no exception. What better way to kick start the festive period than a night of fun-filled nostalgia, with some great acts, fantastic food & drink offers and the most interactive off the wall games of bingo you’ll have ever played…
…plus, the line-up really is fantastic and I'm sure each and every band will have people singing along from the moment they take to the stage, so get your friends and work colleagues together for a night to remember!"
Bands in the Spotlight
S Club 7, the UK pop group from London was created by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller. Members consisted of Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens and Tina Barrett. Top hits included ‘Never Had a Dream Come True,’ ‘Bring it All Back’ and ‘S Club Party.’
911, another English pop group was formed when Lee Brennan, Jimmy Constable and Simon ‘Spike’ Dawbarn got together in 1995. Their debut single ‘A Night to Remember’ followed a year later and their debut album which came in 1997 was certified Gold by the BPI.
Of all the rewind bands out there, Ultrabeat is still going strong to this day. The British electronic music group from Liverpool formed in 2002 and their hits kept rolling into the number 1 spot in the charts. Clubs around the globe are still playing their massive dance hits to this day.

I would love for an event like this to come to my area. I’m not one for disco’s or rave’s but to see pop legends perform would be cool.
