Striking it lucky on the National Bingo Game, the winner who wishes to remain anonymous revealed that they had no clue as to what was happening. They sat down, daubed their tickets like everyone else, only when it came to the linked-up game, they found themselves calling house.
The floor staff in the Mecca branch at Halesowen Street, Oldbury checked the ticket and the caller confirmed it was a winner. Instantly the club erupted into applause, but the winner still had no clue as to what they’d won. Turns out, not only did the player win the in-club full house, but £50,000 on top for calling in just 16 numbers!
Commenting on their win, the anonymous player said: “I genuinely can’t believe it! I was on my own and have only been playing for four days so didn’t quite realise what I’d won.”
Matt Sutton, general manager at Mecca Bingo Oldbury, said: “It was great to see such a new member of our club step up and receive their cheque. I still don’t think it has sunk in. To witness someone who has only played a few games win a £50k jackpot was really special – the whole club was delighted, and it really added to the atmosphere of the afternoon.”
