If you follow my posts here, you’ll know I love to play both online bingo and slots, but I rarely have any luck with either. When I get wind of a new game, I’m eager to try it, even if it is only in demo mode, but last night I decided to play the new swashbuckling pirate adventure slot by NetEnt with real money and I’m awfully glad I did!
Rage of the Seas is a 5-reel video slot unlike no other, what with a feature offering wins on up to 5488 betways! Parrots, monkeys, gunpowder barrells, crew members, a captain and skull and cross bones are among the iconic symbols on the reels, but some are more valuable than others. The monkey is the one of those you should be keeping an eye on because he inevitably controls how many reels and win lines are afforded to players!
Will ‘ye Walk the Plank?
Your high-seas adventure begins with…
…what looks to be a standard 5x4reel engine with 1,024 ways to win per spin. Above reels 2, 3 and 4 sits a further 3x3 engine and when fully unlocked, this is what gives the maximum number of ways to win. When a box with holes appears, the monkey leaps into action and uncovers the row of hidden reels above the reel in which he sits. The more in view, the more chances you have of winning!
Imagine my surprise when not only did the monkey appear on the one reel, but reels 2, 3 and 4 and even better, three skull and cross bones symbols fell into view to award the bonus spins feature too! Between both bonuses, my 40p stake landed me a win of over £300 thanks to octopus wilds appearing and delivering even more ways to win! It’s styled to resemble a pirate ship with cannons, lanterns and all the fixtures and fittings you’d expect, delivering an immersive and fun-filled gaming experience for any level of bet!
Andy Whitworth, Chief Commercial Officer at NetEnt said on the new release: “Rage of the Seas is one of the most feature-loaded titles in our portfolio. We’ve taken the gameplay to the next level whilst maintaining a level of familiarity, so it is easy for players to follow instantly. The game’s classic theme and top-quality graphics create the perfect setting for the action to play out, making this a slot with enhanced engagement and retention potential.”
Octopuses are shy by their very nature and legend has it that the deep oceans house some the size of cargo ships, but I bet they don’t expand and morph like those found in NetEnt’s Rage of the Seas title! It’s very different to their previous high-seas release; Oceans Treasure that’s for sure!

I like pirate themed games, my favourite being the pirate Megaways slot, but I’ve never actually managed to trigger the feature yet. I’ll give this one a try to see if the feature is as easy to trigger as it seems.
