According to the founders of the Mandalay Gaming internet bingo group, Richard Skelhorn and Alex Holt, their relatively new bingo site (launched in June this year), XBingo has shown quite a performance within the couple of months since its opening.
Namely, the proprietary software-powered site has managed to overtake its Dragonfish-powered and much more experienced sister operation, Costa Bingo, which reportedly holds some 8 percent of the UK market.
In a statement, Skelhorn specified: “Key to the speed of achievement of the brand has been the integration of social media. We have always believed in the power of social media and have harnessed a total Facebook marketing strategy for recruitment and awareness, as well as an innovative beta test phase with players recruited via a highly targeted Facebook campaign.
“We set out with high ambitions for Xbingo.com. It is our first brand on our own software platform and we are confident we have a very strong product that will make an impact in new markets going forward," he concluded, underlining that Costa Bingo's active player base has been overtaken by that of XBingo.
