Cheltenham Festival Hit Scandal and A Spinning Masterpiece

Cheltenham Festival Hit Scandal and A Spinning Masterpiece

Horse racing is big business and once a year fans flock to Cheltenham Festival for 4-days of horse betting fun. This year, we had thought the racing event would be cancelled what with everything going on in the world, but it was announced it will go ahead as normal (well, relatively normal!). March 16th to 19th promises to be action-packed but the organisers were hardly expecting a scandal to hit just before the horses take to the racecourse.

Gordon Elliott, a big name in horse training circles, could be about to see his training license revoked after images surfaced of him posing for a photograph on the back of a dead horse. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board will decide whether to allow him to continue in his profession or not. Rumour has it he plans to submit an application for a ‘caretaker’ to take over his license at his stables in County Meath so he can continue to train horses.

While discussions get underway, the British Horseracing Authority has stated quite openly, Elliott will not be able to have any runners in Britain until the outcome of the hearing in Ireland is heard. A new caretaker, however, means horses at his stables will still get to run at Cheltenham, so no real punishment served there.

It’s Horse Play

A brand-new slot has emerged jus tin time for Cheltenham Festival and it invites you to join in the fun at the races, Irish style! Rainbow Riches Race Day sees the return of the jolly leprechaun only he’s not bringing pots of gold, wishing wells or a road to rainbow riches with him, instead, five horses and their jockeys, five pots of jackpot cash, free games and cascading symbols!

Developed by SG Digital, the latest instalment to the Rainbow Riches franchise is a must for horseracing fans and despite the huge shift in theme, there are still remnants of Ireland on the reels- the horseshoe for example and the blinding green 4-leaf clover. Boasting 6-reels and 4,096 ways to win, players will get to benefit from more than the usual one chance to win per spin, all thanks to the cascading reel engine.

Sat to the top of the reels is a virtual racetrack with five horses and their retrospective jockeys. Each time a horse appears, the matching horse on the track will move forward one step – a step closer to those cash pots. When a horse reaches a pot, you win the sum inside and the race starts all over again. Four scatters trigger the bonus spins round and during this feature, the horse race will be a new, more thrilling one!
