Here's Some Healthy Options We Can Adopt this January

January is always a long month. Where other months have a maximum of 31-days, January seems to have 9000! Two weeks down and three weeks to go until pay-day and in my opinion, it can’t come soon enough. Another difficult task most of us adopt each year is cramming more exercise in as we try to lose weight. Why do we do it? It’s literally like pulling teeth.

If you want to start your journey to having a better body so you can start to feel great about yourself again, there are easy ways of doing it. It’s all about the swaps; replace sugar with sweetener, full fat milk with skimmed and white bread for wholemeal. Little changes like this will go a long way to helping reach your goals, believe me, I lost over 7 stone whilst still eating treats.

A great way to start your morning is with super fruits. A handful of frozen fruits thrown into a pot the night before, along with two tablespoons of fat free yogurt, a handful of porridge oats and a sprinkling off sweetener makes one big, healthy and filling breakfast. No fat, no surprises, just total goodness.

Exercise is an important factor, however, if you’re limited in what you can do, even walking can help achieve your goals. A fitness tracker is a great way of visualising how far you’re walking and how many calories you’re losing. Not a fan of the outdoors or dread the thought of people ogling you at the gym? Try going up and down your stairs a couple of times a day, this really does help boost the amount of weight you can lose.

Hydration – water is like some magic potion. Got a headache? Guaranteed you’re not drinking enough water. Feeling hungry? It could just be you need a good drink of water. Chugging back mother nature’s nectar is vital whether you’re looking to lose weight or not.
