Mecca Bingo Player Lands £20K Win on 60th Birthday

For Tracey Evans, celebrating her 60th birthday at Mecca Bingo in Crewe turned into a night she will never forget. On September 5, during her special evening out with her father and sister, she scooped a staggering £20,000 prize after hitting a full house on a 10p ticket.

Tracey, who had chosen to spend the milestone with family at the Dunwoody Way venue, enjoyed a lively start to the evening when her sister claimed a few early wins. But the highlight of the night came during Mecca’s newly launched Mega Money Live game, which links players across clubs and online platforms for high-stakes prizes.

Winning Moment During Mega Money Live

While playing on one of the club’s digital tablets, Tracey casually told her sister she was just one number away from winning. Moments later, her ticket matched all the numbers, securing the £20,000 full house. Initially stunned, Tracey did not immediately react, and it was her sister who notified the staff of the win.

Because the club had already announced her 60th birthday, the victory sparked an extra wave of cheers across the venue. The game, which was called live from Mecca’s Hull club, delivered its biggest celebration of the evening right in Crewe.

Reflecting on the emotional win, Tracey said, “I couldn’t believe it - it was all such a blur. My mum passed away last year, and I looked up and thought, ‘Thank you for my birthday present, Mum’.”

Alongside its nationwide network of clubs, Mecca Bingo also runs a popular online bingo room, giving players the chance to join games from home as well as on-site.

Bingo nights have long been a family pastime for Tracey and her sister, who often bring their father along. She explained that she and her sister always split their winnings, even though her sister tends to be the lucky one. “My sister and I have always shared our winnings - though we’ve never won this big and she’s usually the lucky one! This time it was my turn! Of course, I’ll be splitting the prize money with her, and as for my share… I’ve just been spoiled and pampered for my 60th, so I’ve no idea how I’ll spend it yet!”

Club Celebrations and Manager’s Reaction

Louise Bailey, duty manager at Mecca Bingo Crewe, described the excitement inside the hall: “The atmosphere in the club was electric. We’d already announced that it was Tracey’s birthday, so when her numbers came in and she landed the full house, there was a second wave of celebrations and the whole place erupted. She was in complete shock - I don’t think it sank in at first just how much she’d actually won! The Mega Money Live game was being called live from our Hull club, but the big win came home to Crewe - and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to celebrate it with her!”

Mecca’s Mega Money Live has quickly become a highlight since launching earlier this year. The unique format allows online players and in-club participants to join the same live-streamed game, creating a nationwide bingo event. The next round of Mega Money Live is scheduled for Friday, October 3.
