Taking inspiration from Miami Vice, the US smash-hit television series from the 80’s, allowed NetEnt to deliver the ultimate in slot machine thrills when Hotline made its debut back in 2018. The two main characters were almost identical to the stars of the show and even dressed like them! Complete with expensive Italian suits, flash cars, mobile phones bigger than a brick and an 80’s soundtrack threw players into the Miami streets from 15p a spin.
Fast forward two years and the sequel; Hotline 2, is to be released any day now and sees the two detectives; Quinn and Riviera still hot on the (high!) heels of Kitty Weiss. A twilight Miami backdrop and calm streets could fool players into thinking this is the perfect place to settle down with the family, but these gritty streets mask some pretty dark secrets!
A retro look and 80’s style graphics create the perfect setting for Hotline 2 and NetEnt are promising more thrills than ever before! Will you track down the jewellery thief (Kitty) and put her behind bars? And according to NetEnt HQ, in order to win big on the latest casino game, you should keep your eyes peeled for the ‘hotlines’ in the middle reels and of course the wild symbols!
It’s an 80’s Throwback
How does Hotline 2 stack up? The original offered a 5-reel, 30 fixed win line setup with hotlines and bonus spins. The upcoming release delivers wins across a 5-reel, 243 ways to win reel engine during the base game and a mega 1,944 ways to win during the free game bonus.
The star attraction here is the hotline feature; a bonus where the base bet and two bonus bet levels (the double and triple bet), see reels transform into ‘hotlines’for epic wins! Land wild symbols during this bonus and watch as they expand to cover the entire reel in which they sit!
Head back to the 80’s on desktop and mobile and experience the thrill of the chase and the thrill of Hotline. The crime-ridden streets of Miami need your assistance and if you’re sharp, you could end up landing a huge fixed jackpot for your efforts!
A free to play demo will be offered across the network on the day of its launch and will allow you to play for free to get a feel of the various features. Being a medium volatility game means wins may not appear often, but when they do you can expect fireworks!

I’ve only played Hotline a handful of times. The graphics were sharp, and the features promised seemed great, however, I never ever saw them in action! There’s nothing worse than playing a video slot and never even benefiting from the spins or wilds. Hopefully the sequel is better value for money.
