Microgaming Reveal Their ‘Hand’ with New Casino Verticals

If you were to sum up Microgaming with just one word, it would be slots. Globally renowned for their award-winning titles, some of which with life-changing win potential (Mega Moolah for instance!), the Isle of Man-based software provider has built up quite the reputation over the years with thrilling content, but they’re expected to ramp up those thrills in the coming months with a new and diverse offering of – wait for it…poker!

In a recent press release, Microgaming revealed they will be adding a new type of poker product to its online offering; Hold’em Poker, with many more expected in 2021. The news has come as a surprise to most, what with the closure of the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) earlier this year. For more than 16-years, the MPN provided players with an online poker service which was both entertaining and unique, so why close the network just to produce poker games? Don’t ask me!

Bluff Your Way to Big Wins

Hold’em Poker will be the first to come in what is promised to be a full suite of exclusive poker games, with Microgaming teasing of even more to come shortly (Lucky Showdown is just one!). An immersive experience in a realistic poker room is set to wow players in a new, sophisticated brand of classic Texas Hold’em. The new casino game will be available exclusively to a select number of customers on December 1st with a global launch expected from December 9th

John Coleman, CEO at Microgaming said: “Hold’Em Poker will add a new dimension to our online casino vertical, introducing a range of fun and exciting poker games to our platform. Designed to appeal to both poker and casino players, these games will deliver even further choice to our customers as we continue to diversify and innovate our content offering.”

Unlike most casino games, poker is…

…game of skill but most of the time, it’s not what’s in your hand that counts! Being able to read your opponent and having the skills to bluff your way to the prize pot are two key elements of the game. You could have a really bad hand and still beat the other players at your table to win – and, you don’t need a huge budget to play either! Back in March, Brazilian poker player ‘AAAArthur’ beat 93,016 players to win $1.1m from an original stake of just $0.25! His winnings on this spin & go were then used to enter a $4 satellite and then, an $11 satellite before being crowned the winner of $1,192,802.46 in cold hard cash!
