Who Wants to be a Millionaire is arguably the best gameshow quiz on television, with multiple choice questions and a prize-ladder of up to £1million in cash. Phone a friend, ask the audience and 50:50 can help contestants make the right decisions at the right time for them to win big, not only do they need to answer each of the difficult questions correctly, but go on for as long as they can!
The show itself was embroiled in a scandal when in 2001 Charles Ingram answered 15 questions correctly to win £1million but cheated his way to the prize with help from his wife and a coughing accomplice. The cheque was handed to him as he left the hot seat, but suspicions were raised before he left the building, resulting in ITV stripping him of his prizemoney. The courts ruled he had defrauded the gameshow and he never received a penny!
Hot Water to Hot Seat
The creator of the Megaways reel mechanic, Big Time Gaming, have previously released two Who Wants to be a Millionaire slots, and now they’re back with a third! The biggest gameshow in the world meets the new Megapays mechanic with up to 117,649 ways to win per spin in the new Millionaire Megapays slot! Hidden beneath the dazzling symbols is a free games feature plus 4 progressive jackpots, only unlike those facing Jeremy Clarkson in the hotseat, you won’t have to answer any questions!
Enjoy all the sights and sounds of the gameshow, including the studio setting where only the fastest finger first wins. Styled on the previous release means it’s easy to play. The ‘extra’ reel is housed to the lower of the reels instead of to the top. When a win occurs, all winning symbols are evaluated before being removed from the reels. This is a process known as cascading reels and will continue until there are no new winning combinations.
Bonus spins come complete with a multiplier that only increases in 1x increments with every win – not spin! Hit five consecutive wins on your first spin and your next win will be multiplied by 6x. Here’s how Big Time Gaming (BTG) describe the Megapays sequel: “The game is a fast paced and a real, white-knuckle-ride, with massive pay potential.”
To win one of the four progressive jackpots, the Megapays feature needs to be triggered. How? Any bet, minimum or high roller has the potential to access the guaranteed a jackpot win bonus round. Mini, Midi, Major and Mega will be awarded based on what the reels produce and it’s all about locking in symbols and re-spins. We won’t give too much away as it kind of spoils the surprise.
Where can you play Who Wants to be a Millionaire Megapays? Nowhere at the moment! We only received news of its existence today, and as of yet there is no word from BTG on when it will go live, but we expect that to be before the end of the month. Going on the previous release, you should be able to find this specific release at the likes of Play OJO, Mecca Bingo, Buzz Bingo and Leo Vegas.

Sounds exactly like the first release only with progressive jackpots now. Would’ve been nice to see something new on the reels, but I suppose who wants to be a millionaire is just a studio setting, so not much they can do there.
