Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation launched a new gambling website in an attempt to cash in on some of the millions of dollars that flow each year into off-shore gambling websites. OLG's most loyal customers were chosen for an exclusive preview of the new casino-style site named PlayOLG. The soft-launch of the Ontario gambling site is followed by a catchy slogan ''know your limit, play within it'' probably referring to a number of safeguards embedded into the site, designed to prevent addictive gambling behavior, while giving players an opportunity to take breaks, or to lock themselves out for 6 months, 1 year or indefinitely trough so-called self-exclusion.
The site will offer an array of slot and table games such as blackjack, baccarat, poker, roulette and the possibility of lottery tickets online sale. Players will be able to deposit up to maximum of C$9,999 per week into their betting accounts, using Visa, MasterCard or Interac.
At the press conference in Toronto Friday, the OLG's vice president for IGaming, John Wisternof, said:
“The player may be requested to provide a copy of government issued ID and this additional information may be requested at any point in time that the player is playing PlayOLG.”
He also added that if everything goes as planned, the site will be fully open early in the new year to Ontarians aged 18 and plus.
