Play’n GO Kick Off 2020 in Style with New Legacy of Dead Slot Release

Happy New Year LBB’ers! First mistake of 2020 was me having to correct the year from 2019 when writing a letter – I fear this may take us all a while to get to grips with. Gentle reminder; if you’re having to sign any official documents this year, do so with the full year and not just ‘20’ as this could be manipulated in such a way to show another year! You may thank me later.

As I sat watching back to back movies on New Year’s Day and gorging my way through the leftover chocolate, I caught myself for a moment, wondering who would release the first online slot of 2020 and it came as no surprise to learn it was Play’n GO.

After a very successful 2019, the folks behind the major software company are not resting on their laurels and have already started releasing their titles ahead of schedule. This in their words “is going to be their busiest year for game releases yet.”

CEO Johan Törnqvist said: “2019 was a record-breaking year for us, and we plan to reach even higher for 2020. Legacy of Dead is the very first in a series of quality gaming releases that will further cement our status as one of the foremost suppliers in the industry, and we will bring slot entertainment to a whole new level this year.”

Egypt Reinvented

Legacy of Dead is the first of 52 planned releases this year and it aims to be a crowd pleaser. The 5-reel slot is yet again based around ancient Egyptian mythology, only this time, players will aid an immortal king on his quest for power and riches.

Despite a very elaborate plot, fellow casino game enthusiasts may be just a little disappointed to learn it’s just a remake of the popular Book of Dead creation; every symbol on the reel engine is almost identical to that of the Book of Dead. In-keeping with that feeling of ‘Deja-vu,’ Play’n GO require you to land three golden temple symbols (opposed to books in the very first release) to trigger bonus spins.

Enter the bonus spins feature with a specially chosen symbol; this symbol becomes stacked for the duration of your spins and when two or more land on consecutive reels, that symbol will expand to cover more win lines. Bonus spins can be triggered indefinitely, which is nice.

Legacy of Dead isn’t the only slot release to resembles a predecessor, nor will it be the last, but I’ve come to expect so much from Play’N Go which is why I’m a little less than enthusiastic with the latest release. If you put some make-up on and dress a little differently, are you not the same person? If you’ve played the game, let us know what you think in the comments below.
