Just when you think you’ve seen everything, along comes another reality television dating show, only were told it’s not like anything we’ve seen before! ITV2’s ‘The Cabins’ will air next and features scores of singletons looking for love. As far as dating goes, we all know it starts with the first date, then you’ve got to get to know each other before even contemplating settling down together, but the idea of this show is to throw couple in at the deep end – they must settle down together on the first date!
Dubbed the winter Love Island only with a line-up of everyday ordinary folk, sees cabins used as ‘love nests’ but no cabin would be complete without a hot tub (to get things steamy). Once the first 24-hours are up, they must decide whether to stay put or walk away – and I hardly doubt they’re going to want to walk off the show, so this one should be interesting!
Cold Surroundings – Hot Romance?
The location of the television show is a secret, but we do know a little bit about the cast, including Jess, a former Disney World employee who exchanged the bright lights and excitement of one of the world’s most popular theme parks for a bingo calling job in Newport! The 24-year-old revealed in an interview details of her previous relationships, including the date of a lifetime with a man who was working at Universal Studios.
Many bingo players from Newport will recognise the bubbly, out-going Jess as soon as she appears – her big blonde her is just as big as her confidence, only she not looking for a full house win nor a bonus, this time she’s looking for a future husband!
Jess said: "I’ve never done anything like this. I’ve never been on a blind date. It’s scary but exciting. With normal dates, or if you’re speaking to someone, before you even get to know them, I’m guilty of this, you come across their Instagram and have a little stalk and you have that prejudgement in your head. You meet them and have to pretend you don’t know anything about their life even though you’ve looked at all of their family’s profiles."
She has revealed she is a little daunted about the thought of being filmed, but confesses to be adventurous and outgoing, so I’m sure she will be fine. Only, when you’re used to emptying slot terminals, calling the numbers for bingo games and announcing winners, ‘performing’ may not come quite so naturally!
She added: "I’m quite an awkward person. If I feel I’m not getting the same energy back, I will ramble. But it’s exciting, I’m always just going to be myself. As long as you are yourself, there’s no pressure." The Cabins airs on ITV2 on Monday 4th January, will you be tuning in?

Not one for reality TV shows, but if she was my local bingo caller, I’d be interested to see what she was like in real-life. May actually come back to haunt her though!
