Packed Full of Spins, Fun and Prizes
Slingo has been a dominant force in the online gaming sector with various titles designed to combine the thrills of bingo with reel spinning action. Throw in some bonus rounds, extra turns, wilds, super wilds and some multipliers and you’ve an invention that will be hard to beat in the entertainment stakes, but one software developer is trying its best to take over the bingo/slot market.
Blueprint Gaming, known for their Jackpot King progressive jackpot network and branded slots (Top Cat and Beetlegeuse), have taken two of their most popular titles and given them a big bingo twist. Instead of spinning reels to match symbols on win lines, now you have a 5x5 grid with the potential to win huge sums as well as free games with guaranteed wins!
How do the two new releases compare against the well-established and much-loved Slingo? We’ll get to that shortly. Fishin’ Frenzy and Sweet as Candy work very much the same way – one is based on delicious treats while the other features fish. The aim of the game is to complete as many lines on that 5x5 grid as possible (max being 11), to win cash (determined by the value of your bet) as well as guaranteed win spins.
All Spinning but Who’s Winning?
For your stake, you will receive 5 spins. Each of those spins can reel in fish on one game or wrapped candy on the other. Should a gift box appear on the grid of the tasty title, it will reveal as many as five more sweets. If an angler spins in, he can pull in up to 5 more fish to create even more win lines. Completing five lines awards your stake back, six is double your stake but from 7, the prizes begin to climb.
Now the win spins. Eight, nine, ten or eleven (full house!) lines trigger 1, 2, 5 or 10 free games. Once awarded, the 5x5 grid becomes packed with gummy bears or fish. Each icon holds a value – the more you spin in the more you win! Add to that a gamble bonus that kicks in at the end of your original five base game spins. If players are close to landing big cash or spins, they will be offered an additional spin at an additional cost. Please note, choosing to play this way will not guarantee any winnings or spins.
Slingo vs Prize Lines – who wins? I love playing both, but Slingo titles can be extremely complicated. Some games are over way too quick, and you don’t feel you get good value for money entertainment (Who Wants to be a Millionaire especially!). Blueprint’s Prize Lines mechanic is slower in pace and gives exceptionally more playtime without the added cost. There are no complicated features to get your head around either, just symbols and a box or an angler that can assist with more win lines.
Fancy giving them a try? There’s one place offering these two games, as well as multiple new raffles, and that is Mecca Bingo!
