We all have a dream to win big when it comes to playing bingo and slots, but very few of us actually manage it. There are the lucky ones who win life-changing sums on their very first deposit and others who win after decades of losing. We’ve seen some tremendous wins over the years, but it got me thinking – whatever happened to these winners? And how much did they win?
First up is Jean Jones, the 63-year old who struck it lucky to the tune of £22K last year. Landing the large jackpot at Castle Bingo in Barnes Hill, the woman decided to go public. Not only that, but she splashed out on a holiday to Disneyland in Florida and bought many colouring books.

…bingo players and before she knew it, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) were writing to her to tell her that her benefits would be stopping.
Claiming she had arthritis, the woman was receiving £543 a month in Personal Independent Payments (PIP). Needless to say, the money dried out before the benefits were axed and as far as we know, jean is still living on slashed benefits.
What a Buzz
Gareth Bedford from. Southampton hit the headlines in August of last year when he landed a whopping great win of £171,546.81 at his local Buzz Bingo. Winning the rollover jackpot on the number 55, the lucky bingo dabber sits in the number one spot for thebiggest bingo winnings ever won at the UK’s most popular bingo halls.
Mr F.B was also very lucky at Buzz Bingo, only this time the winner was playing online and playing casino games when he landed a win of £100K. What game was he playing? Only one of my favourites; Buffalo Blitz with its stampede of features!

Mecca is notorious for creating huge winners. In November 2019 we got wind of a newbie landing not one – but two life-changing wins! A lucky mum from Seaham became a millionaire within 10-days of joining the online bingo site after triggering two wins; one of £597K and one of £552K!

The ex-jobcentre worker said: “I just couldn’t believe I’d won it.

He swapped his Renault Clio for a £40K Jaguar XF and vowed to live a millionaire lifestyle. I wonder how he’s getting on with that?
