Play’n GO is going to be a familiar face around here this year, what with the promise of 52 releases due in 2020. Following hot on the heels of Legacy of Dead comes Wildhound Derby, the greyhound racing themed slot which captures the excitement and passion of the much-loved traditional sport.
The great British pastime of greyhound racing has been captivated in the superior form, no surprise from an award-winning software developer who love nothing more than impressive audio and immersive features. Boasting 5 reels and 30 fixed win lines, this highly volatile creation will take you as close to the track as you’d imagine. Oh, and the bonus game will have you cheering from start to finish.
This year is set to be a landmark year for Play’n GO – two casino games down, 50 to go. CEO Johan Törnqvist spoke about the latest title:
“Wildhound Derby is an exciting example of what you can expect from us this year. It’s a thrilling game with a new type of feature, not seen from us before. Players will love the excitement and the fun of watching the dog’s race, and the possibility of a big win!
We love innovating what we do at Play’n GO, and this is just one example of how we intend to innovate throughout 2020.”

Packed into the 5x4 grid of symbols are many ways to win. Trophies, wads of cash, rosettes, entry tickets, racing dogs and of course those notorious card values are all waiting to create a winning combination. Three or more matching symbols falling from left to right, on consecutive reels will generate a pay-out. Seems pretty straight forward, but there’s a new bonus element on offer…
…the ‘dog race bonus spins.’ Select one of the dogs prior to your spins commencing to bring home the winnings. Braveheart, Daring Dex, Beadles Teabag and Oh My Dog could net you a fortune, regardless of the level of your bet.
Wild dogs during the bonus feature will move left one reel when there is a golden hare symbol on the same row. A wild dog will win when it passes reel 1. Bonus spins will continue until a wild dog wins the race and should that be your dog, you get access to the winner’s wheel – this is where your winnings will be multiplied by a minimum of 2x to a maximum of 15x.
Max win potential is £10K but thanks to that winners’ wheel, you could see that sum soar to a £150K! Imagine banking that! Those dogs don’t only appear during the bonus, they appear during the base game and help to form wins by acting as a wild.
Will you be off to the races? Let us know below.

Not a fan of dog-racing but it’s got some good bonus elements and big jackpot potential. Not one I’d probably play but it’s good to see developers thinking outside of the box.
