The Annual Southern European Gaming (SEG) Awards took place recently in Milan and NetEnt were crowned with no less than three accolades; Best Online Casino Provider, Best Live Casino Provider and Best Support for Responsible Gambling. Representatives from operators across Europe attended the prestigious event at the Radisson Blu Hotel Milan on Friday and NetEnt were proud to be there to pick up the three awards.
The Swedish software provider is going from strength to strength and in the last 12-month this success has been overwhelming with many ground-breaking releases that continue to raise the bar with both live casino and online slots content, and there are many more yet to come this year…
…including a casino game dedicated to the Prince of Darkness – Ozzy Osbourne! The blockbuster thriller will be added to the company’s growing list of branded games, joining the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Jimi Hendrix and Motorhead. The living legend has sold more than 100 million albums and solo tracks worldwide, but he’s famed for being the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath, the popular heavy metal band from the United States.
Absolutely Delighted!
The gaming suppliers commitment to responsible gambling with a series of innovative tools landed them the award for Best Support for Responsible Gambling and how fitting as the award was won during the United Kingdom and Ireland Responsible Gambling Week, the cross-country initiative running annually between 7th and 13th November to raise awareness on responsible gambling.
Henrik Fagerlund, Managing Director of NetEnt Malta said: “We are delighted to be taking home three of the SEG’s esteemed awards after what has been a monumental year for NetEnt in Southern Europe. Our achievements in progressing our Live Casino and online portfolio, together with our responsible gaming developments, are thanks to the dedication and talent of our teams across the company. It is fantastic that this hard work has been recognized at such a high level.”
Play Safe
Responsible Gambling Week is an annual campaign led by the gambling industry that focuses on an environment where both players and operators can chat about the effects of gambling. Awareness is the main goal and operators throughout the UK and Ireland all get together for one week to drive home the awareness of:
- How to gamble responsibly
- How to access tools which are already in place to play safely all year round
- How to access support and advice
From Tombola to Sailor Bingo, each website will have a series of tools in place to help players talk about gambling. Knowing when to stop playing is key. Signs there could be a problem include:
- Spending more money and time on gambling than you can afford.
- Finding it hard to manage or stop your gambling.
- Having arguments with family or friends about money and gambling.
- Losing interest in usual activities or hobbies.
- Always thinking or talking about gambling.
If you or someone you know needs gambling help, BeGambleAware is a free confidential online service with information on how to access support, plus there are useful tips to help stay in control.

Tombola have had so many things on Facebook this week to help people understand how important it is to set limits. The number or people moaning about how much they’ve spent in the chat rooms is eye-watering! I think they need to be listening to them on Facebook!
