Some statistics say that we have more chance of being murdered multiple times than winning the lottery (which is nice to know), but many people in the UK have defied the 1 in 45,057,474 odds to win and strange as it seems, some don’t even know they’ve won! The list of unclaimed lottery winnings is lengthening, and this is due to people buying tickets and either throwing them out or mislaying them – imagine knowing you’ve won a fortune, but you can’t quite remember where you left your ticket!
Across the pond in Louisiana, one lucky couple knew they had won but it took him weeks to find the ticket and I bet you’ll never guess where it was hiding; in his car’s sun visor!
Time is Running Out:
To claim a prize, you need the winning ticket in hand, and you have a deadline of 180 days of the draw date. If you don’t manage to claim within the stated timeframe, the unclaimed winnings will go to the National Lottery Projects who donate to many good causes around Britain.
The big prizes below (from this year) are yet to be claimed and the National Lottery are hoping the rightful winner comes forward after releasing details to the news, so check these numbers and check for any tickets you may have lost as time is not on your side!
