The winner (who wishes to remain anonymous), was on course for a life-changing win of €100,000, but their bingo numbers failed to appear within the first six balls called. I doubt the winner is too disappointed though, as €20k is a huge amount of money for anyone to win.

So how did the winner manage to win all that money? The Dublin native popped a €2 bet on a bingo terminal on Tuesday and was gob-smacked when the game produced the colossal win. The numbers chosen were 2, 10, 19, 30, 33 and 46 and these six numbers came out from the 35 numbers picked in the lucky 12:16 draw.

The winner’s lucky numbers failed to appear within the first 6 numbers called, but they did come out within the first 7 and this how the lucky punter scooped the €20,000 cash prize. Spokesman for BoyleSports, Lawrence Lyons, said: "All looked lost after only one number, but the luck was shining on our Dublin customer and we congratulate them for picking up €20,000 in a matter of minutes. It was only a small stake, but their ambition has paid off handsomely."
